It has retained the original design for carrying excessive loads on short or long trips. He improved many features that were not available with wood to make it much lighter, more stable and easier to paddle . It is a true ORIGINAL Prospector style made of Fiberglas or Kevlar with a wide and deep tumblehome style, single keel and some rocker. Today, the "PROSPECTOR" name is OVERUSED  to describe all type of canoes and a lot of them are just plain shallow 13.75" or less and have little freeboard. Also MEASURE THEIR SO CALLED 16' 6" and you find a lot of them to be only 16'  or  16" 2" with not much body surface in the water as they extend the end caps area to reach their maximum length which has no bearing on what rest in the water, so what are you really paying for ??
